Backgammon, known as tavli (τάβλι) in Greece, has long been a cherished pastime in cafes and homes across the country. Legend has it that even Emperor Xeno, in the 5th century, famously fell victim to an unfortunate dice roll during a game.
This backgammon set embodies the essence of Greece with its dominant blue hues, from its Classic Blue exterior to the canvas playing fields, and even to the pearl dice and checkers. The playing fields feature a contemporary interpretation of ancient Greek columns, adorned with the Owl of Athena in the corners, symbolizing wisdom and guidance to victory.
